Obituary

Cynthia K. Lindauer went to be with the Lord on September 26, 2018 after a courageous four-plus year battle with cancer. Cindy, was born November 20, 1558 to Donald R. Lindauer and Jacqueline Marie Lindauer. She grew up in Oklahoma City with her loving parents and brother, Donald R. Lindauer, II. She grew up in NW OKC and attended Casady School. She went on to college at Vanderbilt University to pursue her passion to be a school teacher. She graduated with a bachelors degree in elementary education from Vanderbilt and went on to get a Masters degree in deaf education from the University of Oklahoma. Cindy loved her thirty-plus year job as a school teacher and was usually one of the last teachers to leave school at the end of the day. She never had children of her own but she thought of her students as her own. She loved and cared for them as if they were her own. She enjoyed becoming friends with many of her fellow teachers, parents of students, and other school personnel. She attended Edmond First Baptist Church and was very much at peace attending there. She enjoyed her Sunday School class and the many friends she had there. She especially enjoyed the churchs leadership by Pastor Blake Gideon. She was thankful for the many cards, letters, phone calls, and gifts from her former students and friends during her battle with cancer. She was very close to her parents, especially her mother, and she took care of them in the last days of their lives. She loved her brother Donnie, whom she often called Raggie, and was always concerned about his well-being. Donnie likewise loved Cindy very much and took a major role in caring for her in the final months of her life. She also loved her extended family which included Toni, Tammie, and Gwen. She met her special friend, Bob, in Sunday School class taught by Randy Ice at Village Baptist Church in 1998. Randy has been a trusted friend to both Cindy and Bob throughout the years. She always wanted the best for Bob. She enjoyed cooking for him and gave him many gifts over the years and was always a trusted friend to him. Bob loved Cindy and took a major role in caring for her in the final months of her life. Cindy is very thankful to her physicians and other care givers at OU Stephenson Cancer Center for their excellent care. She would like to especially thank her lead physician, ENT Dr. Greg Krempl, Radiation Oncologist Dr. Carl Bogardus, and Hematological oncologist Dr. Mohammad Razaq. Funeral services will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home in Bethany, OK on Monday, October 1st at 10:30 AM. All friends and acquaintances are welcome to attend.
