Cornelia "Connie" Mae Petillo, age 87, passed away in her home on April 22, 2018. Connie was born on March 16, 1931 in Union City, Oklahoma to Neal and Edith Franklin. She moved to Oklahoma City in childhood, along with her mother and younger sister, after the death of her father. There she attended Oklahoma City public schools where she eventually met her husband, Kenneth Petillo, at Classen High. Connie and Kenneth were married on December 3, 1950 and went on to have three sons; Keith, Neil Craig, and Clifton. Connie was always the consummate mother and homemaker, whether it be hosting birthday parties, working with the little league team or being den mother to a pack of cub scouts. Over the years, while her sons were still in school, she also served at one time or another as a home room mother, Sunday school teacher and choir mother. After her boys were sufficiently grown, she started her second career as a receptionist and PBX operator at Community Bank and Trust in Bethany, OK until her retirement.
Connie was preceded in death by her father, her mother and her husband, Kenneth. A member of St. Marks United Methodist Church for over forty years, it is this dedication to her faith that comforts her family in the knowledge that she is with these loved ones once again.
Surviving members of her family include her sister, Gladys Jarvis of Fowler, OK; son, Keith and his wife Lillie of McLoud, OK; son, Craig of Oklahoma City; and son, Clifton and his wife Mary of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be Thursday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams, Bethany. Services will be held on Friday, April 27, 2:00pm at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 8140 N.W 36th St., Bethany, OK with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8801 NW Expressway, OKC immediately following.
