Surrounded by her children, Coralee Opal Monroe Stevens passed away peacefully at her home in Oklahoma City, March 6, 2019, at the age of 96. She was born May 3, 1922 to Ollie Cleveland Monroe and Josie Elizabeth (Smith) Monroe in Frink Switch, a small community south of McAlester. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1939 and attended business college in McAlester. The third of eight children, she was preceded in death by all her siblings. She was married for 65 years to Leon Stevens, who preceded her in death in 2009. In addition, her sons, Leon Dee Stevens and Timothy Stevens preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, James Stevens and wife Pat, Mary Stevens, John Stevens and wife Donna, Priscilla Krittenbrink and husband John, Douglas Stevens and wife Debra, Carolyn Branch and Joe Stevens; grandchildren, Johna Stevans Swann and husband Derek, Justin Stevens and wife Haley, Garrett Rhynes and wife Jennifer, Lori Rhynes Clay and husband Mike, Lance Rhynes, Sofia Stevens, Ashley Branch Vaughan and husband Yance, Clint Branch, C.J. Branch; great-grandchildren, Dylan Swann, Brooklyn Swann, Ryder Stevens, Sayler Stevens, Cale Rhynes, Heidi Clay, Finley Clay, Valor Vaughan, Baron Vaughan, and Kamron Branch.
Viewing will be Sunday, 11am-9pm, with family present from 2-4pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Monday, March 11, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
