Connie Kipf Turner, age 59 of Tulsa, Oklahoma was welcomed home to Heaven on June 13, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 23, 1954 to Jan and Rich Kipf in Sioux City, Iowa. She held degrees in Sociology, Psychology and Theology. Growing up, Connie lived in Sioux City and Des Moines, Iowa and New Orleans, Louisiana, but spent more than 40 years here in Oklahoma - including Oklahoma City, Edmond, Yukon, El Reno and Tulsa. Connie worked tirelessly for DHS in OKC for nearly 30 years before retiring. She spent endless hours and traveled countless miles working for child services - it is impossible to know how many lives she touched doing her life's work, but it is a certainty that she did everything she could to make the world better for as many infants and children as she could. She continued to be a champion for children's welfare after her retirement when she worked in Daycare licensure enforcement. She married the love of her life, Earl Turner, in 1991, still of Tulsa,OK. "E.T", as she called him, was always a loving and devoted husband, but he set a new standard with the care he gave her during her illness. He moved every mountain he could if there was something she needed on the other side. Connie's greatest joys were her granddaughters and great-grandson. She spent so many weekends driving to OKC to see them for trips to the zoo, the Round Barn, El Reno Lake or just to Martin Nature Park and Sonic. Connie was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith. God's strength was with her through her illness and He was there to offer her comfort when all earthly medical limits had been met. Connie had a heart as big as her laugh, and while both will be greatly missed here, we know she is sharing them in Heaven and the angels are rejoicing. She is survived by her spouse, Earl Turner; parents Jan and Rich Kipf, of Oklahoma City; sons Robert Kipf, Alaska and James Truby; brothers Bill Kipf, Louisiana, Doug Kipf, OKC, Pat Kipf, Missouri, sister Linda Madarang of OKC, granddaughters Jessica and Amanda, great-grandson Nicholas and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in OKC on Monday, June 17, 2013 at 2:00. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Viewing will be Sunday, June 16, 2013, 11am-9pm, with family present for visitation, 6-8pm at Mercer Adams Funeral Service. Remembrance service in Tulsa pending for a later date.
