Obituary

Conrad Osburn "Connie" Benedix was born in Oklahoma City to Alice Francis Benedix and Virgil Harrison on August 22, 1925. He was a decorated combat veteran who served in WWII receiving a purple heart for action in Belgium. He was married for 66 years to his wife, Yvonne. Of this union were three children, Conrad Charles, Deborah, and Trina. He worked as an ironworker, member of Local 48, for 44 years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and trout fishing. He was an avid OSU football fan and season ticket holder since 1975. He was preceded in death by both parents; his sister, Verma Joe Behrnes; brother, Harold Crawford; and his infant son, Conrad Charles. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; daughters, Deborah and Dr. John Pittman of Oklahoma City, Trina and Randy Hall of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Stacey Zondor, Aaron Hall, Kim Pittman-Carisoza, David Pittman and Rachel Pittman; and six great-grandchildren, Justin Zondor, Aiden Hall, Jackson Zondor, Ashton Hall, Abigail Hall and Camac Carisoza. Connie was a loving, faithful husband and a wonderful, devoted daddy. He treasured his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a selfless and generous family man. He will be dearly missed. Mass will be offered at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on Monday, May 8, 10:00am with burial in Bethany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Charles Borromeo.
