Obituary

Connie Lorene Smart Elliott Hoskins was taken to Heaven on October 27, 2011. Services will be held at Mercer-Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK on Wednesday, November 2, 2011. A time of greeting will be held at 10:30am with services beginning at 11:00am. Interment will follow in Cashion Cemetery, Cashion, OK. Connie was born January 23, 1916 to Minnie M. (Gilstrap) Smart and Jack A. Smart in San Angelo, TX. She married Foy Edward Elliott in 1937 and Charlie Hoskins in 1968. She lived in Oklahoma most of her life, over 50 years in Bethany, until she moved to Oklahoma City two years ago. She was devoted to her Lord and Savior and to her church. She was a member at Tulakes Baptist Church for over 50 years, teaching a Womens Sunday School class, singing in the choir, participating in the Womens Missionary Union, and serving on various committees. She loved to cook, especially for others, crocheted countless pairs of baby booties and, in her younger years, enjoyed fishing. She is survived by two sons, Milton Hoskins and his wife Bettie; Jack Hoskins and his wife Frances; and three daughters-in-law, Myra Elliott, Jan Elliott, and Joyce Hoskins. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Scott Elliott and wife Linda, Patricia Elliott, Steve Elliott and wife Denise, Ami, Jeff Hoskins and wife Janet, Steve Hoskins and wife Cindy, Amy Dilbeck, Genia Dilbeck, Sherry Williamson and husband Alan, Kenneth Hoskins, Larry Hoskins, Lisa Williams and husband Chuck, Mike Hoskins and wife Patty, Mitch Hoskins and wife Becky, and Gayla Williams and husband Bob. Connie is also survived by 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild expected in April. She is also survived by one brother, Jerry D. Smart and his wife Dee of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Foy, her husband Charlie, her sons Richard Elliott, Bruce Elliott, and Charles Hoskins, her sisters Ilene and Imogene, and her brothers Ernest, Joe and Jackie.
