Connie Lee (Johnson) Henderson passed from this life into the presence of her Lord on August 17, 2017. She was born September 10, 1935 in Kemp, Oklahoma. She received a BS degree in Accounting from University of Central Oklahoma and was a certified public accountant. Connie married Larry Henderson June 19, 1953 in Bethany, Oklahoma. Connie is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Harold) Wedel; her two granddaughters, Christine Raney and Lauren Hutchings; and her precious great-granddaughter, Casslyn Raney. Other survivors include sister, Nedra Mallow; brothers, Lane (Pat) Johnson, James (Jessica) Jackson, and Ron (Sarah) Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
Connie enjoyed her years of serving with Larry as a dedicated pastor's wife. She believed there was not any higher calling than investing and ministering in the lives of others. They served in pastorates in Tulsa, OK; Cushing, OK; Freeport, TX; Blackwell, OK; Lawton, OK and Oklahoma City. One of Connies favorite statements was, "The only legacy one leaves is their investment in others, especially their children and grandchildren."
One of Connies privileges was to work for the Oklahoma Petroleum Marketers and Convenience Store Association (OPMCA), since 1978. She retired from full time employment in 2009, but continued to work for the organization as a consultant.
Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Both her family and friends always commented on her unselfish nature and positive attitude. She was a committed prayer warrior and believed in the power of prayer. Her lifes scripture is Jeremiah 29:11, because she truly believed God has a life plan for everyone. Her purpose in life was to be honorable, compassionate and Christlike.
Services will be Monday, August 21, 1:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel. Viewing will be Sunday, 11am-9pm with family present from 4-6pm at Mercer-Adams.
