Connie
Gadberry
Mar 9, 1936 — Jan 22, 2025
Beryl "Connie" Constance Young Gadberry, 88, of Yukon, traveled to her heavenly home on January 22, 2025. She started her earthly journey on March 9, 1936 in Oxford, England to proud parents, John Reginald and Beatrice Amelia Young.
Connie met Charles Everett Gadberry while he was stationed at Brize Norton Air Force Base in England. They married in England on April 17, 1954. Leaving her family behind, she followed her husband to the United States. She became an official US Citizen in September of 1961. After Charles finished his tour of duty in the Air Force, they settled in Guthrie and then moved to Oklahoma City and on to Tuttle, finishing up their senior years in Yukon.
Connie worked in school kitchens for many years, retiring as Assistant Manager from Yukon Public Schools Cafeterias. Saved in 1961, she loved going to church, singing in the choir, and being a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed garage sales, writing poetry, and playing bingo! She loved watching Doc Martin, Little House on the Prairie, Waltons, Lawrence Welk, ice skating, and good old-time movies.
After losing the love of her life in 2018, Connie started attending the Daily Living Center in Bethany where she enjoyed field trips, arts and crafts, playing games (especially bingo) and making friends. She became known as one of the Golden Girls, and was a member of the Mad Hatters singing group.
To the very end, Mom loved with all of her heart her children, Robert J. (wife Connie) Gadberry, Paul H. Gadberry, and Timothy A. Gadberry, all of Yukon. She loved her grandson, Christopher R. Gadberry of Yukon, and she was very proud of him. She was known as his beloved "Nan." Connie's love overflowed to her extended family and friends.
