Clyllis Dale Newsom, 84, died August 14, 2014 in OKC. He was born January 2, 1930 in Yoakum, TX to John and Dora (Squyres) Newsom. He married Iverna Hardy on March 7, 1970 in Rome, NY. He was a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam wars serving in Special Forces. He also served and retired from the U.S. Air Force. He later retired from the U.S. Post Office. He enjoyed gardening and yard work. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Iverna; sons, Kevin Newsom of Little Rock, AR, Paul Wade Newsom and wife Diane of Comanche, OK, Larry Newsom and wife Carol of Columbia, MO, Shawn Newsom and wife Dawn of Edmond, OK, and Paige Newsom of NJ; daughter, Cyndy Taylor of Little Rock; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
