Clifford M. Shirley passed away February 7, 2009 at the age of 72. He was born in Oklahoma City on February 15, 1936 to Cloal M. and Charles Ellis. His step-father was Earl P. Shirley. Cliff was a loving husband of 42 years to Fran Shirley, wonderful father to Stephanie Shirley Parker and awesome granddad to Josh, Joel, Noah and Gracie Parker of San Jose, California. Cliff worked in the aerospace industry for 38 years and retired from Gulfstream Aerospace. He enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren who adored their granddad. Cliff was preceded in death by his mother, Cloal M. Shirley, and step-father Earl P. Shirley. Survivors include his wife, Fran Shirley; daughter Stephanie (Shirley) Parker and her husband, Paul and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Earlene Washington of Midwest City, Oklahoma; brothers Earl Ike Shirley of Bixby, Oklahoma and Claude Buddy Ellis of Bethany, Oklahoma; along with many lifelong friends. Visitation will be Thursday, February 12 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, Oklahoma with Fr. Patrick Langan, LC of San Jose, California and Fr. Dan Letourneau officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Legionaries of Christ, 22825 San Juan Rd., Cupertino, CA 95014 or the American Heart Association.
