Obituary

Clarence Victor Richburg passed away June 29, 2018. Clarence was born August 24, 1931, near Bristow in Creek County to Frank T. Richburg and Clair Koon Richburg. The son of a veterinarian, Clarences mother passed away when he was nine years of age. He later graduated from Bristow High School in 1951. After high school he began working with his brother Orval as a stone mason and a brick layer. Clarence went on to become a union brick layer and stone mason. In 1952, Clarence enlisted in the United States Air Force and would go on to serve in Altus, Oklahoma; Spokane, Washington; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Morocco, North Africa; and in the country of Greenland. He served as an air policeman and was honorably discharged after four years of service. In October of 1967, he met Carolyn Deans at Faith Tabernacle Church and they were joined in marriage on June 8, 1968. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary this year. Clarence enjoyed church, friends, family, studying the Bible, and fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. He enjoyed riding bicycles and his motorcycle with Carolyn. He was a "handyman" around the house and enjoyed working on cars. He was a member of the Bricklayers union for over 50 years. Clarence served many years as an usher at Good News Church in Yukon. He traveled with their missions ministry to Mexico City and Matamoros. He also served at Faith Tabernacle in Oklahoma City on the bus outreach ministry and as a telephone counselor with the television ministry. Clarence is survived in death by his beloved wife of fifty years, Carolyn; his extended family, Russell Kilburn, Danny Richburg, and Francis Smith, all of Bristow, Oklahoma; Charles Deans of Oklahoma City; Carolyn Jean Fontenoy of Clinton, Iowa; Janet Jurgensen of Osceola, Iowa; and Phil Curtis of Altoona, Iowa. He is preceded in death by Orval Frank Jr., Norma Lorene, Frank Edwin Kilburn, Myrtle Lee Richburg, Billy Joe Richburg, and his step mother Nettie Richburg. Viewing will be Tuesday, 9am-9pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Memorial services will be Thursday, July 5, 11am at Good News Church, Yukon, OK. Interment will be at 9:45 in Memorial Park Cemetery.
