Charlyne Patricia Windham passed away March 21st in Oklahoma City. She was born February 8th, 1935 to Allison & Velda Clark in El Reno, Ok. After attending several schools and graduating high school, she attended college in Europe and at the University of Colorado, Oklahoma University, Oklahoma State University and went back to school after having a family and received her Master's in Education from University of Central Oklahoma. Charlyne joined the Kappa Delta Sorority and was an active member for over 50 years. She was instrumental in the development of the Kappa Delta Bear Pals, providing teddy bears to traumatized children. She was a talented artist and loved to paint and create beautiful stained glass pieces. She taught art at Cassidy School and then taught 5th and 6th grade at Piedmont Schools until she retired. She always had a great love for animals and was never without a dog or cat in her lap. She is survived by her son Lee Windham and his partner Ben Gordon of OKC, daughter Cari Routh and husband Kevin, granddaughters Brayden and Hanna Routh of Edmond. Brother and sister in Law Kermit & Shirley Clark of Gainesville TX., niece Kathy Purdum, nephews Jay & Kyle Clark and their families all of Texas, cousin Janie Coffee of Okarche and many lifelong friends. Mom is going to be greatly missed, but we know she is having a joyous reunion in heaven with her beloved parents and her precious granddaughter, Allyson Routh. Special thank you to the Heritage Square Home Association for all of their kindness. Visitation will be Sunday 3-5 pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be held Monday at 1:00 pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany.
