Obituary

Charley Lloyd Biggs was 91 years old and lived at Concordia Assisted Living Center in Oklahoma City. He died at 2:03 a.m. at Mercy Health Center, on Friday, December 26. Lloyd was born to Frank and Anna Biggs on October 3rd, 1917 in Guthrie, OK. In 1928, Frank and Anna moved the family to Piedmont, where Lloyd and his siblings attended school. Lloyd was married to Lorraine Mary Kessler on July 9th, 1939. He was a longtime member and deacon at the First Baptist Church of Piedmont, where he was instrumental in constructing their original brick church building. His faith in God and trust in Jesus Christ were truly the cornerstone of his life. He believed he was put on this earth to help people, and did so in countless ways for numerous people. Lorraine and Lloyd have been very committed to visiting and ministering to many friends and family in times of need. Living out his faith has inspired and encouraged his legacy to trust Jesus and serve Him in his own personal way. Lloyd had farmed since his early adulthood, and he and his twin brother, Floyd built several houses and barns in the Piedmont area. He served on the Piedmont School Board. Survivors include: Lorraine; daughters Donna Adair and Shirley Ford; son-in-law Walter Starry; son, Kenneth, and daughter-in-law, Suzy; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many other nieces and nephews. Lloyd is preceded in death by: his parents; 5 sisters; 4 brothers; daughter, Linda Starry; and sons-in-law Paul Adair and Larry Ford. Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29th, at the First Baptist Church of Piedmont. Burial will follow at Mathewson Cemetery. Memorials or contributions may be made to the charity or ministry of your choice.
