Charles Robert Wray, Sr. died November 8, 2019 in Oklahoma City. He was born January 20, 1936 in Mountain View, Oklahoma to George W. and Rosa Lee (McKinley) Wray. He graduated from Mountain View High School. Charles married Peggy G. Windsor in 1971. They enjoyed almost 48 years of marriage prior to his death. Charles retired after 28 years from Gulfstream Aerospace as a Senior Aircraft Inspector. One of his favorite pastimes was watching western movies and shows. He enjoyed playing dominoes and gardening, and he loved to fish. He was an avid coin collector. Charles was strict with his kids, but he wanted to make sure they grew up with a strong work ethic and a background of integrity. He instilled in them the desire to take care of their families. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings and grandson, David Gill. Survivors include his wife, Peggy; son, Charles Wray, Jr. and wife Tami; daughter, Donna Gill and fiance, Michael F. Florey; son, Robert Wray and wife Wendy; daughter, Janet Dodd and husband Stewart; son, Junior Standfield; and daughter, Bobbie Standfield. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Thursday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams.
