Obituary

Charles L. Witte, Sr., 70, of Bethany, Oklahoma, died July 28, 2010 in Oklahoma City. He was born Oct. 7, 1939 in Millstone, West Virginia to Harold and Marie (Lambert) Witte. He proudly served two years active duty with the Naval Reserve. The first in his family to attend college, he received his Associate in Biblical Studies from Nazarene Bible College. He married Anita Scott July 28, 1962. To their union were added three children: Robin, Kimberly and Charles. A Nazarene minister for seventeen years, he received the Northwest Oklahoma District Church of the Nazarene Eagle Award, and was a member of ARMMS (Association of Retired Ministers and Missionaries). He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, David Witte, and grandson, Steven Ray. Charles is survived by his wife of 48 years, Anita; daughters Robin Counce and her husband Gregg, Kimberly McAfee and her husband Chuck; son Charles Chuck Witte, Jr. and his wife Malissa; grandchildren Kristen, Christopher and Joshua Counce, Heather, Sierra and Kaylee Witte, Danielle and Johnny McAfee; and great-grandchild Trey McAfee. Viewing will be Sunday, August 1, noon to 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 2:00 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, August 2, 10:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Bethany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to ARMMS or the Gene Hancock Africa Fund.
