Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Williams, beloved husband, father, and friend went home to be with the Lord, December 17, 2016. He was born January 27, 1942 in Connersville, IN to Harry & Emma Williams. Chuck enlisted in the United States Air Force on May 31, 1961. During his military career he was a communications specialist and also served as a drill instructor. While serving in Vietnam, he became pen pals with what would become the love of his life, Beverly Burton. Upon returning from his tour of duty in Vietnam they met and were married on November 4, 1967. Chuck and his growing family traveled much of the United States, and the world. After 23 years of active duty service Chuck retired on May 31, 1984. Upon retirement from the USAF, Chuck relocated his family to Oklahoma where he started a second career working for the State of Oklahoma as a computer programmer, in the State Finance Office. He retired from the Oklahoma State Office of Finance in 2003. Chuck had many passions in life, including being a member of the "Swinging Rebels" square dancing club. But family was his biggest passion. He was a strong patriarch to his family. Deeply proud of his children and grandchildren. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports and follow their dreams. Often times being a very vocal fan in the stands, you could feel their success on the field in him. He was a true giver, always making sure the grandchildren had everything they needed, to help them reach their goals. Chuck was a very social man who never met a stranger. He had a fast smile and quick wit. His big personality guaranteed his presence was not to be forgotten. Chuck is survived in death by his wife of 49 years, Beverly Williams.
