Charles (Chuck) A. Short was born one of four children in Plattsburg, MO, on March 16, 1938. He worked 40 years in quality control at Lucent Technologies during which time he also taught classes and received several bachelor degrees. He proudly served and retired from the Air National Guard. Square dancing since 1974, he promoted single square dancing and was active in many clubs including Metro Singles, Advancers, Tuesday Night Gang, Spirit of 76, Aristocrats and OC Twirlers. He always enjoyed meeting and welcoming all the new girls in lessons and was president of Single Squares many times. He is predeceased by his parents Roy and Armittie Short and sister Virginia Stallings. He is survived by his sisters Tresa Osburn and husband George, and Rena Simmons; daughter Dorothy Ramsey and husband Wayne; son Roy Short; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2:00pm at Mercer Adams Chapel. Chuck supported Jesus House and in lieu of flowers asked that donations be given to the Jesus House.
