Charles Eugene Rayshell went to be with the Lord on April 1, 2017. He was born September 6, 1931 in Lindale, Texas to Edward and Jewel (Leggett) Rayshell. He was the youngest of four boys. He married Hilma Christine Holman on December 29, 1950. Charles had his first son, Charles (Chuck) Eugene Rayshell Jr., on August 6, 1958. Second son, Robert Victor Rayshell, was born November 29, 1959.
Charles grew up in Point, Texas and later served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He graduated from Oklahoma City University and went into the television repair business. He owned his own repair business for over 25 years. He later worked as an associate electrical engineer for AT&T for 8 years. After an early retirement, he bought, remodeled and sold houses. He also bought, repaired and sold cars and motor homes for several years. He could build or repair just about anything. Work was what Charles did for fun.
Charles was an active member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church since 1960. He loved the Lord. He was a Sunday school teacher, usher and did many other things for his church through the years, including installing and running a new sound system in the church auditorium. Charles was a beloved husband, son, nephew and friend as well as being the greatest father to ever walk the earth.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Billy, Edward and David Rayshell. Survivors include his sons, Charles (Chuck) Eugene Rayshell Jr., Robert Victor Rayshell and wife Jenifer; and favorite grandson, Drake MacKenzie Rayshell and his wife Shelby.
Everyone who met Charles saw his kindness.
