Charles Ray "Jim" Michael was born on July 29th, 1942 in Bethany, OK where he lived his entire life. He went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 6th, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. He graduated from Bethany High School in 1960, then joined the Bethany Fire Department in 1963. He retired from the fire department in 1983 then began driving a special needs bus for Putnam City Public Schools, retiring after 25 years. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior and OSFRA. He was married to Gloria Kathryn Brandt Michael on August 1, 1964 and they were happily married for 53 wonderful years. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; 3 children, Cecil and Shelly Michael, Nancy and Shane Jenkins, and Charlie and Stacie Michael; 7 grandkids, Cale, Tate, Hannah, Elizabeth, Brandt, Abigail and Seth; and 4 cousins, Ronnie, Brenda and Mike Taylor and Pam Shaw. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Levescy; grandparents, Ethridge and Jewel Michael; uncles and aunts, Montera and Juanita Michael, Bob and Betty Huckabee, Mary and Joe Taylor, and Jerry and Gene Dodson. He also leaves behind many good friends, neighbors and loved ones. Viewing will be Thursday, 9am-9pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be 10:00am, Friday, November 10 at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 6501 N.W. 23rd St., Bethany, with Pastor Dwayne Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the Lutheran Church of Our Savior Building Fund.
