Charles "Charlie" Edward Mayes, 72, went to be with his Lord, February 23, 2016. He was born December 15, 1943 in San Francisco, CA to Harley and Jewel (Venable) Mayes. He worked his whole life as a salesman for various products, his last being postage machines and general mailing equipment. An avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and culinary chef, he enjoyed camping and elaborate storytelling. Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his beloved high school sweetheart, Alecia, his wife of 53 years, married on Valentines Day; sons, Lance and wife Rhonda, Lane and wife Stacie; daughter, Lori Daniel and husband Robby; sister, Grace Fujii and husband Buddy; 8 grandchildren, Vincent, Brittany, Jessica, Jacob, Jared, Josie, Rhett and Jewelanna; 1 great-granddaughter, Victoria Linn; and godson, Shane D. Turnbow. His extended family consists of his mother-in-law, Evelyn Grier and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. Also, special close friends, Ken and Peg Turnbow have been a blessing to him and his family. We would like to especially thank all his caregivers for the extended time and care they provided during his illness.
