Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Barland Mann passed from this life on September 11, 2023 at Bradford Village Assisted Living at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 7 days. He was born to J.B. and Dott (Williams) Mann on May 4, 1949 in Amarillo, TX. He graduated Plainview High School and attended Southwestern Assembly of God Bible College in Waxahachie, TX for about 1 years. He married June Jones from Kress, TX on March 4, 1976. They moved to Oklahoma in 1982 when Chuck took a job with Morton Buildings. He had several different jobs over the next several years: the oil field, lumber yard, Builders Square, delivering dialysis supplies, then driving a truck for Sunbelt Industries for 15 years. In 2015, he retired but in 2017 started driving again, this time for Brady Oil Field Equipment as a hot-shot, and retired again in 2020. Chuck loved to sing, especially in church. He loved gospel music. His hobby was his motorcycle. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Dott; and his only brother, J.B. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, June of the home; one daughter, Christie Kurtz and her husband Adam; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons; one brother-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The memorial service will be held at the Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma at 2:00pm on Saturday October 14.
