Surrounded by family, Charles Ray Jansen died on December 23, 2021, at his sons home in Oklahoma City. He was born to Norman Edward and Claire Mae (Boyle) Jansen on November 30, 1938, in Neenah, Wisconsin. The family moved to Tennessee where he attended Christian Brothers High School in Memphis and the University of Tennessee. He transferred to New York University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. In 1963, in Yonkers, New York he married Rosemary Nevin, his wife of 58 years. As a sales representative, he was transferred to Oklahoma where he soon became interested in the restaurant business acquiring several restaurants in Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado. He was an excellent cook and his other pastimes included martial arts, scuba diving, fishing, hunting, camping, dog training, golf and coaching his boys in baseball and soccer.
Charlie was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Jones; and his grandson, Chaz. Surviving are his wife, Rosemary; children, Kristin Collins (Kenton), Brian (Julie), and Darren (Jen); also left to mourn are his beloved grandchildren, Heather, Kaden, Brandon, Matthew, David, Kevin, Andrew, Josiah and Hunter; great grandson, Finnley; along with Jens daughter, Amy; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 4-6 PM on Sunday, January 2, at Mercer Adams Funeral Service and Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church at 11 AM on Monday, January 3. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
