After a valiant battle with blood cancer, Charles Gordon Humble, went to be with his Lord on Jan. 27, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Charles was born in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, Feb. 16, 1936. At age 5 his family moved to Tonawanda, New York where he became a naturalized citizen. From there he moved to Hammond and Sullivan, Indiana, Olivet Nazarene College in Illinois, Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage Alaska, Lackland Air Force Base Texas and finally to Oklahoma City. While in Oklahoma, he graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Jurist Doctorate in 1963 and became a member of the Oklahoma Bar the same year. Charles also had the credentials to practice before the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He was Municipal Judge in Bethany for 25 years, and Special District Judge in Oklahoma City for 22 years. He was past president of the Oklahoma Municipal Judicial Conference, member of the Board for Oklahoma Judicial Conference, and on the Bethany Mental Health Board. Charles was: a member of Bethany Nazarene Church, Southern Nazarene Benchwarmers, Phi Delta Phi, Bethany Kiwanis Club for 25 years, Oklahoma Bicycle Society, active with Bethany Childrens Center helping to gain a grant and sponsoring bicycle rides and other charitable events, and a loyal and fanatic OU fan. Charles was married to his loving wife Karen on August 1, 1975. They loved to travel together seeing all 50 US states, Europe, Australia, Russia, Canada, Colombia and Peru South America. Later in the marriage they discovered cruising and that became their favorite adventure together. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Humble. He is survived by his spouse of 35 years, his children Gordena Ann Frankenfield, Sharla Kay Humble and Glen Collier, Charles William Humble and Cassie of Woodstock, Ga., Charles Corbin Humble and Heather, and two step-children Jo Millard and Russell Hill. Grandchildren Karch and Beth Ann Frankenfield, Eddy Ray Barnhill, Jordan and Joshua Humble of Woodstock, Ga., and one step-grandson Matthew Millard, two great grandchildren Kimberly and Cadence Barnhill, siblings Rev. David Lloyd Humble and Mary of New Castle, Indiana, John Wesley Humble of Payette, Idaho, Ruth Evelyn Friede of Chinook, Montana, Walter Ivan Humble of Orofina, Idaho, Carol Lois Chaplin of Covina, California, and Arthur George Humble of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, brother and sister-n-law Roger Chapman and Madalynne of Fremont, California, niece Rebecca Humble Warren of Spencer, Indiana, honorary Humble Sid Helms and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral will be at Monday at 1pm, Jan. 31, 2011 at Bethany First Nazarene Church. The family will meet visitors from 4 to 6 pm Sunday, Jan. 30 at Mercer Adams Funeral Home in Bethany.
