Tommie passed peacefully from this world in the early hours of Monday, May 2, 2016 at the age of 84. He was born April 6, 1932 in Tulia, TX to Fonnie and Louise Day. Tommie proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. In 1952, he married Mary Lu Record. They had two children, Bernice and Tom. Tommie and Mary Lu were happily married 49 years until Mary Lus death in 2001. Tommie had a long and distinguished career in the FAA from 1956 to 1980. In 2003, he married Helen Prickett. He faithfully served the Lord in many capacities throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Garnett, and his wife, Mary Lu. He is survived by his loving spouse, Helen; his daughter, Bernice Womack and her husband, Dr. Charles Womack; grandson, Jonathan Womack and his wife Rachel; great-grandson, Greysen; grandson, Patrick Womack and his wife Nicole; and son, Tom Day and family.
