As the seasons changed from summer to fall on September 25, 1950, a wonderful bundle of joy was born to Charles, Sr. and Evelyn Brown and they named him Charles Brown, Jr. He was affectionately referred to as "June" or "ChaCha" by family and friends.
June attended Tulsa Public Schools and later obtained his General Education Diploma. He was an advocate for humanity. He was generous and demonstrated concern for all men, women and children. He often visited the sick and shut-ins at nursing homes and hospitals.
June was a dedicated seasonal worker for the Salvation Army and the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. He was loyal to the elderly, incarcerated and underprivileged. He dedicated his life in later years as a chairperson for the Alcoholic Anonymous and the Narcotics Anonymous organizations. As a symbol of his accomplishment, he displayed his chips proudly.
June genuinely enjoyed all life had to offer. His sense of humor, heart of gold and his passion for family and friends will be sincerely missed by all.
On December 13, 2016, June transitioned after 66 years from earth to heaven. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, his grandmother, Indy Rucker, and multiple relatives.
June leaves to cherish his memory his partner of thirteen years, Andrea (Andy) Bresette; six children: Charles III, Jerome, Malcolm, Patricia, Ralph and James; step-daughter Lynda; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five siblings: Lonnie Ray, Ann, Darnell (Leona), Vanesta (Michael), Verdell (Kolesha); one aunt, Lucille Vann; one uncle, Pat Rucker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
