Charleen Wise, 97, beloved Mother and Grandmother, went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 9, 2012. She was born March 5, 1915 in Fancy Prairie, Illinois in Medford County to Chas and Eliza (Elkins) Varnie, who preceded her in death. She was strong willed and worked hard her whole life starting on the farm then moving on where she retired from LeeWay Motor Freight and then ran the family business, Wise Machine Shop. She was a caring woman who put a great deal of time into her family and friends. She was independent yet loving, and a true inspiration of what a woman can be. Very few could compare with her determination and strength. She loved life and lived her life every day to the fullest. She went out dancing 2 times a week up until she was 95 years old. She was a lifelong member of Eastern Star, and Order of the White Shrines of Jerusalem. She is survived by her loving sister, Ivalee; daughter, Rowena and son-in-law, Sam; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann; 5 grandchildren, 12-great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, sons Charles and Billy, and sisters, Wilma and Thelma. Services will be held at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 10:00am with interment in Rose Hill Burial Park, OKC.
