Celia "Faye"
Maher
Jul 17, 1940 — Mar 25, 2025
Celia "Faye" Maher, 84, of Mustang, Oklahoma, passed away March 25th, 2025 after a long illness. She was born to John and Louise Huffman on July 17, 1940. She grew up in Topeka, KS. After high school, she moved to Bethany, OK to attend college at Bethany Nazarene College (Now SNU) where she met and married Ron Eagan. They had 3 children together. She later moved to New Hampshire, and in April 1987, she married Chuck Maher. They lived in Boston, MA and Stratford, CT until they moved to Mustang, OK in 1995. She was married to Charles "Chuck" Maher II until he passed away in 2012.
Faye was a devoted mother and homemaker in her early adult years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting and baking. Some of the things she especially enjoyed were making dresses for her daughters and granddaughter and curtains for the church. Hat knitting became a passion and a way to serve her community through donation of her handiwork.
Later in life, Faye graduated from Central State University (Now UCO) in 1976 with her Master's of Education in Counseling Psychology. She worked for several years in sales and various office jobs to support her family. She enjoyed researching genealogy and joined the Colonial Dames, DAR and was an active member of the Red Hat Society. She also loved to spend time with her grandkids.
Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Maher II; parents, John and Louise Huffman; brother, Robert "Bob" Huffman and his wife Helen; and son-in-law, Dale Gibson. She is survived by her children, Dennis Eagan, Celia Gibson, and Candi (Craig) Vickery all in the Yukon/Mustang Area; her step-children, Charles (Elma) Maher III of the Philippines, Joseph (Terry) Maher of Maine, Diane (Bruce Pou) Maher of Florida and Thomas Maher of North Carolina; 26 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; brother, William "Bill" (Linda) Huffman; and many other close family members.
A special thank you from the family to Mercy Hospice Nurses (Leslie and Margaret) and the Right at Home caregivers (Lisa, Anna and Margie) that helped us through the final years.
Faye's farewell services will take place at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany on Saturday April 5th, 2025 at 10:00AM. Graveside to follow at Yukon Cemetery.
