Obituary

Dr. Carson Newton Snow, Jr., died June 11, 2011. He was born Sept. 11, 1922 in Stamford, TX. Carson was a loving husband, father and pastor. He was a decorated US Army Air Corp Captain, retired. He fought in WWII and the Korean War as a bomber pilot. He received his education from Bethany-Peniel College (SNU), graduating with a Bachelors of Theology and a Masters in Religious Psychology and Education, graduating Suma Cum Laude. He received his Doctorate of Ministry from Luther Rice Seminary in Florida. Dr. Snow pastored churches in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Oregon and Florida. After retirement from the ministry, he and Nita returned to Bethany, OK to be near their family. While here, he was a member of Bethany 1st Church of the Nazarene where he was a member of the Cathedral Choir and a Chaplain for the church. He will be missed by his family as well as former members of churches he has pastored. Dr. Snow was preceded in death by one son, Carson N. Snow, III, and two sisters, Martha Holladay and Katherine Kitty Larsen. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Juanita D. Snow; 2 children, Johnny Snow and wife Carol of Holly Lake Ranch, TX, Jo Beverly Fain and husband Ray of Bethany, OK; brother, Ronald Snow and wife Sue of Sweetwater, TX; 6 loving grandchildren, Scott Snow (Julie), Richardson, TX, Steve Snow (Lisa), Holly Lake Ranch, TX, David Snow (Pat), McKinney, TX, R. Neal Fain (Loran), Bethany, OK, Sara Fain Jones (Sammy), Waco, TX, Carson N. Snow IV, Yuma, AZ; and ten great-grandchildren. Services will be Wed., June 15, 2011 at 2:00pm, Chapel in the Round, Bethany First Church of the Nazarene.
