Carolyn "Wausceile" VanHooser, 74, went peacefully to her next journey on May 23, 2014. She was born Oct. 29, 1939 to Marie and Edward Maddox. A lifelong resident of OKC, she graduated from N. W. Classen & attended OKC University before becoming a wife and mother. Through her life she was a secretary, diner owner, juvenile probation officer, and property manager before retiring from the State Attorney General's Office, but her finest was being a Mom, Grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eunice Marie (Canada) Maddox. Survivors include her father, Edward H. Maddox; son, Brad and girlfriend Cheryl; grandsons, Steve and wife Stephanie and Brent and girlfriend Courtney; 2 great-granddaughters, and a slew of friends that all had a part in her life. Viewing will be Wednesday, May 28, from 8 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany. Services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
