Obituary

Carolyn "Sue" Anthony, 80, passed away on April 1, 2025 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born January 22, 1945 in Little Rock, AR to Ray and Lucy (Denis) Venable. She graduated from Del City High School in 1963. On February 29, 1984, she married the love her life, Dean Anthony, and they raised four children, Misti, Scott, Shay and Joshua.

Sue was an agent for Farmers Insurance for 27 years. In order to better serve her deaf clients, she went to school to learn sign language and purchased a TDD system for her work and the Bethany Police Department. She was actively involved in her church and was very gifted in helping and serving others.

Sue loved to travel and she and Dean were able to visit Peru, Germany, Russia, Panama and Greece. Also, they enjoyed scuba diving trips to the Caribbean that included Bonaire, Cancun, and the Cayman Islands. She took great joy in spoiling, entertaining and playing with all her grandkids and great-grandkids. Sue had a green thumb and enjoyed having a beautiful yard.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Hayden R. Williams.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Dean Anthony; children, Misti Wriston, Scott J. Champlin and wife, Jacqulyn, Shay Anthony, and Joshua G. Anthony and wife, Lesa; grandchildren, Scott T. Champlin, Lorelai Champlin, Ryan Williams and partner, Andre Palmer, Aaron Williams, Adrian Williams, Crystal Champlin, Ava Anthony, Joshua A. Anthony, Jax Anthony, Angel Keaton and husband, Jacob, and Colby and wife, Gigi Buenrostro; great-grandchildren, Kendrick Ray Palmer, Anastasia Celeste Palmer, Noah M. Allen, Ryan J. Allen, Dawson Bare, Turner Bare and Lake Keaton; brothers, David Venable and Terry Venable; and sister, Diana Billings.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 14, 11:00am, at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pivot, an organization that assists children who are aging out of the foster care system.
