Obituary

Carolyn, age 86, was born in Newport, Arkansas to Electa (Byrd) McDaniel on April 7, 1932. She left this world on October 20, 2018 while at home with family at her side. She was the only child of the original single parent, our Mimi. She lived her early school days in Houston moving to Oklahoma City where she graduated from Central High School. She married the love of her life, Albert Lowery, in 1951; they were married for 65 years before his death in 2016. Her "Momma" preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Lowery and life partner Teresa Walters; daughter, Tammy Beard; son, Michael Lowery and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Chris Lowery and wife Kelsey, Gary Lowery and friend Kimberly Cooley, Brandy Lowery Yarber and husband Jason, Jenny Walters, Matthan Beard and wife Stephanie, Leah Hadley and husband Jason, Connor Beard, Isabella Beard, and Luke Beard; great-grandchildren, Carter, Gavin, Skye, and Novella; Jeanne Carson and Jonas Nash. After marrying Albert she worked at Liberty Bank in downtown OKC while he was oversees in the Korean War. Upon Alberts return he eventually settled into homebuilding. She became what she called his "bookkeeper." She handled all of the accounting throughout Alberts thriving homebuilding and land developing career, supporting him in every venture. They raised three children and left a strong legacy of hard work and perseverance. She loved to travel with family and friends, RVing around the US and Canada with their children and her mother in tow. They spent many years as members and officers of the Rollin Okie Motorhome Club. The family also spent many years at their Eufaula lake place. She was a member of the Womens Auxiliary of the Central Oklahoma Homebuilders Association and served on the board. One of her proudest moments was when she won Woman of the Year from the Oklahoma State Homebuilders Association in 1982. Hobbies included playing Mah Jongg weekly with her friends. She will be sorely missed but always respected as a warm, classy, funny, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. The outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming. There are no words to express our gratitude to Sharon Osborne for her unwavering love, dedication, and special care she gave our mother during her last few months. Without her would have been unimaginable. Visitation with family will be Wednesday, October 24th from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Merce- Adams Funeral Home, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK.
