Obituary

Carole Jean Rehfeldt McAnally, a longtime resident of Bethany, died February 5, 2024. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth LeDon McAnally; 4 sons affectionally called "pack of D's," Devin Scott, Darryl Wayne (wife, Joan), Curtis Delane, and Kenneth Dale; her sister, Phyllis Ann Cheatwood (husband, Henry); brother, Roger William Rehfeldt (wife, Sonja); nieces, Debra Ann Prince, Brenda Rae Diehl, and Leanna Grace Gordon; and nephew, Phillip Richard Rehfeldt.

Carole was born on April 7, 1942 in Burlington, Iowa, the second of three children, to Remiss Richard Rehfeldt and Frances Grace (Phillips) Rehfeldt. In 1948, the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where her father was the General Secretary of World Missions in the Church of the Nazarene.

Carole graduated from Southeast High School in 1959. She enrolled in Bethany Nazarene College (now SNU) where she met and married her college sweetheart, LeDon, on May 25, 1963. The two served as pastors in several Nazarene churches in Texas, Nebraska, Illinois and Iowa before moving back to Bethany in 1981. Carole then worked as a secretary at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene as well as SNU.

Carole was a devoted mother who enjoyed cheering on her boys in their many activities. Her contagious, ready laugh brought delight to all within hearing. She also excelled in teaching the children in each of the churches where they pastored. She played the piano, sang, and loved to read. If you couldn't find her, she would probably be in a quiet corner somewhere reading.

Carole was a spiritual gal and a Jesus follower. She will be deeply missed by friends, family and all who knew her.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 10 in Bethany Cemetery.
