Carol Jean
Maxwell
Jan 8, 1939 — Oct 29, 2024
Carol Jean Maxwell, 85, passed away on October 29, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born January 8, 1939 to Frank Oren Kennedy and Ada Alene Kennedy (Kendall) in Cushing, Oklahoma. She married Louis Maxwell on May 1, 1982 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Carol was an avid fan of OU Sooners football and Oklahoma City Thunder basketball. She was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene for fifty-six years and loved serving the Lord.
She enjoyed her church activities, such as women's bible study and traveling with the prime-timers. She always said that attending church on Sunday made her week go better. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life. She also did home day care for many years. Every child whose life she touched called her MeMe! She loved Hallmark Christmas movies, baked amazing bread, and always made a cherry pie for Kevin and a coconut cream pie for Rick. Her most favorite activity was talking on the phone. To know her was to love her.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alene Kennedy; beloved spouse of 40 years, Louis Maxwell; her niece, Leslie Kennedy; and stepson, Steven Maxwell.
She is survived by son, Max Kevin Hull and wife Jamie Hull; daughter, Kimberly Dawn Bibbs and husband Richard Bibbs; three grandchildren, Brandon Bibbs, Brenna Bibbs, and David Hull; two stepchildren, Cherie Ogg, Butch Maxwell and wife Penny Maxwell, and Linda Maxwell (spouse of Steven Maxwell); nine step grandchildren; and eleven step great grandchildren; her brother, Dale Frank Kennedy; sister and husband Janice and Eldon Howard; nieces, Courtney Crothers, Jessica Calimbahin, Nena Dunahay; nephews, Joshua Kennedy and Lonnie Howard; and so many other beloved family members. She will be so greatly missed.
