Carlita grew up with 3 older sisters, Jinx, Lucille, Nat and an older brother, Jim. At age 3, the family left the farm and moved to San Antonio, Texas. It was there at Pruitt Avenue Baptist Church that Carlita met and married the love of her life, Edward Johnson, who she affectionately called Eddie, on June 23, 1956. Not too long after getting married, the Air Force transferred Eddie to California for two years, where they began their lifes adventure. Jobs and family saw them moving to Texas, Oklahoma, Connecticut, back to Oklahoma, then to Georgia and finally settling in Oklahoma City. It was during this time that Carlita raised two boys, David and Chris, enjoyed making new friends, getting involved in a local Southern Baptist church and exploring all types of crafts. Carlita was a talented artist who really enjoyed oil painting, and her works are proudly displayed throughout their beautiful home. She was also quite the seamstress who cherished making clothes for her beloved grandkids and their dolls. Carlita had a great passion for Christ and spent her entire life using her talents to serve. She shaped young lives as a kindergarten teacher in Sunbeams and as a 4th and 5th grade Sunday School teacher at Putnam City Baptist Church, in Oklahoma City. Her gift for teaching was later seen as she took leadership roles with Bible Study Fellowship in Norcross, Georgia. It was there as a summer trainer, group leader and substitute teaching leader that she taught Gods Word and ministered to more than 300 women. Having been saved as a young woman, Carlita grew up with a strong faith and developed into a committed prayer warrior.
