Carla Sue Erke, age 69, passed peacefully March 18, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. Carla was the devoted wife of Phillip R. Erke of Oklahoma City and loving daughter of Eva M. and Harry R. Icks, both deceased. She has a younger sister, Jana Cason of Irving, Texas and brother, David Icks of Shawnee, Oklahoma. Carla was born on October 26, 1951 in Beaumont, Texas. She graduated from The University of Central Oklahoma and had retired from a successful career with General Motors Corporation. Spending time with her family and long-time friends meant a great deal to her. Carla had a kind heart, was thoughtful, caring and generous to those she loved. Carlas beauty shined brightly to those of us fortunate enough to know and love her. Over the years Carla had many cats. One of her favorites was Pete. She loved them all, but Pete held a special place in her heart. She loved to cook, collect recipes, read books and she was always dressed so pretty for every occasion. Like her mother, she was a devoted Boomer Sooner. She had such a passion for life. She was intelligent, quick witted and there wont be a day which passes we wont all miss her greatly.
