Carl "Preston"
Boice
Jan 1, 1950 — Mar 1, 2026
Carl "Preston" Boice died on March 1, 2026, in Oklahoma City, OK. Preston was born January 1, 1950, in Lawton, OK to Hiram and Kathleen (Ledford) Boice. He moved to Oklahoma City in the early 70's where he resided until his death.
Preston had many careers in his life. He was a direct person who always spoke his mind, which often led him to pursue new opportunities. He had a deep love for classic rock; the Allman Brothers Band was his favorite band. He loved playing piano throughout his adulthood. He never met a stranger and loved storytelling. He loved the beach and took many trips in his life to Port Aransas, TX, his favorite beach town. He was a man of deep faith and a member of Northwest Baptist Church for many years. He was unapologetically authentic, never held a grudge, and always had a positive attitude, reflected in one of his favorite phrases: "Don't worry about it."
Preston was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pam Hoover; and nephew, Conrad Hoover.
Survivors include his former wife and close friend, Gaylynn Boice; son, Dale Boice and wife, Brandi; grandchildren, Keegan and Kolten; daughter, Stephany Dowd and husband George; son, Jesse Boice and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Titus, Isaiah, and Raelynn; and many friends and family.
Preston was truly loved and will forever hold a place in our hearts. Special thanks to The Lakes and Suncrest Hospice and all the care they provided for him in his final years.
