Obituary

Calvin B. McMahon was born January 27, 1924 to Robert and Mary McMahon in Curtis, Oklahoma. He was one of three siblings. He went to Seattle to work in shipyards at the age of 17. He joined the Navy "Sea Bees" in 1943. Early in 1946 he was honorably discharged. He was a loving father that never had to spank but give a stern look and say your name. He owned and operated WW Trailer parts with brothers, Louis and Jim McMahon. He then went to work for Brassfield's Mobile Home Parts and Repair, Ewing Manufacturing Co. for 25 years and later retired. He was as good as his word and always thought a hand shake should be binding and close the deal. As a young father, he was a member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church. Later, Calvin and Ernestine moved their membership to Meridian Avenue Baptist Church. There, Calvin drove a church bus on Sunday mornings. After several years, they moved their membership to the First Baptist Church of Bethany. He married Ernestine L. Weesner on April 5, 1946. He is survived by children, Sherry Thompson and husband David, Dr. Terry Calvin McMahon and wife Shari; grandchildren, Travis Thompson and wife Cindy, Jeff Thompson and friend James, Nathan "Nate" and wife Deana, and Matt McMahon. Viewing will be Monday, March 3, 2014 from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment to follow in Bethany Cemetery.
