Obituary

Calvin Paul Martin, Sr., 71, died April 22, 2015. He was born June 19, 1943 in Kansas City, MO to William and Hazel (Putman) Martin. A proud veteran of the U.S, Army, he was a professional salesman in the fire safety business. Calvin served as Deputy Fire Marshall during the Oklahoma bombing and invented a product for burns that was used by the fire department. He was the promoter in 1978 for Rush, Speedway on Ice and Chuck Berry. He liked to fish and enjoyed racing boats, dune buggies, and drag cars. He led a colorful life and will be deeply missed. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sharon; sons, C. Paul, Jr. and wife Kim of OKC, B.J. and wife Brooke of OKC, Timothy of Mustang; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be Saturday, April 25, 12-5pm at the family home, 7720 N.W. 14th St., OKC.
