Burrel Dean Matlock Dad left us Dec. 1, 2010, after a 20 year battle with Parkinsons disease. He was born July 27, 1929, in Hugo, OK, to the late Bill and Verdie Matlock. He is survived by his brother James Edward Matlock; sons Gary Priest, Burrel Dean Matlock, Jr. and wife Jacky; daughter Myrna Matlock; grandchildren Dustin Matlock, Kristina Matlock, and Nora Priest; great-grandchild Kailey Lester; and many other close relatives and friends. He served his country in the Korean War and was honorably discharged by the Army in 1954. He came to OKC and went to work at Morris Chevrolet on May as a used car manager until his retirement at the ripe old age of 53. He wore many different hats after that but he truly loved the car business or horse-trading anything from mini bikes to motor homes and lake houses. Dad enjoyed fishing, waterskiing, bowling, RV-ing, and was a great bootscooter in younger days. He also loved just sitting around with friends and family playing cards and dominos for hours or just visiting with them. Dad was lucky enough to live at home his last years because of the wonderful care and love he received from his daughter, Myrna, lifelong friend Patricia Powell and special caregiver, Teresa Barton. He greatly appreciated this. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Monday at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment following at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service Sunday from 12-9pm.
