Brent Thomas Holley was born on May 2, 1966, to Carrol Eldo and Beverly Jane Logue Holley in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He passed from his life on December 27, 2024. Brent attended Putnam City Schools, graduating in the Class of 1984. He pursued further education at Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma, whereby he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration in 1989.
Brent married Lisa Michele Liles of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the fall of 1989. To this union, a daughter, Allyson Michele Holley, was born, joined by brother, Benjamin Alton Holley a few years later.
Brent was baptized by Brother Glen Tomlinson into the General Assembly and Church of the First Born on April 12, 1994. He served on the Church Board had a great love and care for all the Brethren, and had a Special Gift of Expression when offering Testimonies and Prayers.
His first work experience was at Jim Snyder's grocery stores. He worked there part time through his high school and college years. These beginnings served Brent well in his next career path. Brent decided to exit the state to work for Food Lion stores in Myrtle Beach, SC. This company offered him a promotion. Eventually, Brent served as a store manager for a Food Lion store in Yukon, OK. Brent moved into the field of loss prevention and settled into a position in loss prevention for Dollar General Stores. He worked for the company for 20 years. When he passed, he was serving as Regional Loss Prevention Manager, Region 72, Central and Western Oklahoma. He had high regard and respect for his many Dollar General friends and administrators.
Brent had a quick wit that delighted everyone who knew him. He enjoyed watching Sooner football and the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was an avid hockey fan. He rarely missed a Barons game in Oklahoma City and followed the Dallas Stars. All of his life, he enjoyed the rock band, Rush, and often played their music while driving.
Survivors include Brent's mother, Beverly Holley of Bethany, OK; daughter, Allyson Michele Holley and her husband Andrew Roush of Bastrop, TX; son, Benjamin Alton Holley of Bethany, OK; his special cousin, Ona Lou Britton-Spears and her husband Scott Spears of Muskogee, OK; and he leaves behind many more family members and friends.
His father, Eldo Holley, preceded him in death; along with his maternal grandparents, Alton Thomas and Ona Logue; and paternal grandparents, John and Mattie Holley.
All who survive him will remember him fondly.
No Mother could have had a more loving and caring son.
Viewing is Monday, January 6 from 10am-8pm with family present from 5-6pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 10:00am at Church of the Firstborn, 1501 N. Purdue, Oklahoma City, OK.
Memorial donations may be made to the Church of the Firstborn or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
