It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Braxton Paul Reid, a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. Braxton peacefully passed away on March 24, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends, at the age of 25.
Braxton was born on February 28, 2000 in Oklahoma City. He grew up with a passion for sports, excelling in basketball, baseball, and football among others. He was known as "The Breeze" thanks to his speed and athleticism. His love for football grew more and more as he approached his high school years. Braxton was always appreciative of all of his coaches and teammates at both Piedmont and Bethany High School where he graduated in May of 2018.
After graduation, Braxton continued his football career at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and New Mexico Military Institute. After exploring his academic interests, he ultimately chose a different direction in life. His time in college was one of many experiences that shaped him and his journey.
Braxton always brought his big smile to the party when enjoying time with his friends and family, something he deeply valued. Whether it was laughter shared at family gatherings or memorable moments with friends, he was happiest surrounded by those he loved.
Braxton is survived by his father, Stan Reid and wife Brooke; his mother, Tammy Seward and fiancé Mike; his siblings, Breanu, Kevin and wife Vicky, Ricky, Jay, Zoe; and his step-siblings, Kyle, Taylor, Rylee, Cressie and Bailey. Braxton is also survived by many other friends and family including his Grandma Verdell; several aunts and uncles; and devoted girlfriend, Jennifer, and her son Josiah aka "Nene" who was like a son to him.
Braxton will always be remembered for his contagious smile, generosity, and his incredible hugs. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
