Obituary

Boyd Ford Purifoy entered his eternal life on July 25, 2010. He was born August 12, 1922 in Camden, AR and was raised in Louann, AR, graduating from high school there in a class of 7. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1944 and entered the Army. He served until demobilization in 1946. He married Frances Emmert on February 26, 1949, and they enjoyed their 60th anniversary in 2009. She was his soul mate and the love of his life. They lived in Tulsa, until moving to OKC in 1963. Boyd became a Christian as a teen and his faith was his primary guide throughout his life. He was ordained as a deacon at Putnam City Baptist Church and was a member there at his death. He was a mechanical engineer and had a respected career in the HVAC industry. He also taught at OSU-OKC. He is survived by 3 children, Paul and wife Margaret of OKC, Dennis and wife Cassie of Yukon, and Anita Matson and husband Gene of OKC. He is also survived by his dear grandchildren, Robin Wall, Rachel Malone, Nathan Purifoy, Kelsey Purifoy, Misty Snider, and James Matson. He leaves also 10 beloved great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives, and a host of wonderful, caring friends. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents Arthur Paul Purifoy and Pearl Patterson; 2 children who died in infancy, Janet and Gary; brothers Preston and Glenn; and sisters Ruby and Christine. Funeral services will be Wed., July 28, 2:00pm at Putnam City Baptist Church with interment following in Chapel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Benevolent /Missions Ministries at Putnam City Baptist Church.
