Bonnie Hughes Williams, 86, went home to be with the Lord and her husband, Jack, on Dec 22, 2021. She was born to Walter and Vela Hughes on March 10, 1935 in Purcell, OK where she attended school for 10 years; she dropped-out of school at the age of 16 to marry Jack Williams on May 25, 1951. Jack was in the Army and stationed in Killeen, TX by that time. After he was discharged from the Army, they moved to Purcell in early-1953, and in June their first child, Jackie, was born. In August of 1953 they moved to Blackwell, OK where three sons, Steve, Larry and Mark, were born. Bonnie was a stay-at-home mom, and Jack owned a gas station in Blackwell. In 1961 they moved to OKC because his gas station in Blackwell lost much of his business after I-35 was opened in that part of Oklahoma. For many years Jack owned several gas stations in the OKC area while Bonnie continued to be a stay-at-home mom to her four children, and then in 1965 the opportunity arose for Jack & Bonnie to adopt a little girl, 10 months of age, who desperately needed a loving home. Cindy became a very vital part of our family when she was adopted. And then five years later, in 1971, there was another addition to our family when another sister was born to Jack & Bonnie when Jackie was 17 and Bonnie was 36. Tina was a big surprise, but she became another vital & welcome addition to our family especially when she was THE one who was most-instrumental in leading Jack to the Lord and receiving his salvation on Jackies 46th birthday . . . this after MANY other prayers had been prayed by his other children & family members for many years.
Bonnie was a great seamstress, particularly as to making clothes that Jackie wore regularly when she was in her teens; people were envious of Jackies wardrobe that included formal gowns as well as every-day and dress clothes. Bonnie was also a housewife-at-heart and a good cook and enjoyed cooking for her family throughout the many years that they maintained a home in Bethany where they lived. She loved to go to church, and she faithfully took six children to church for the majority of their growing-up years. She liked to sing and was in a number of church trios in the churches that she attended. She babysat for several of her grandkids before they entered daycare. She briefly worked in a school cafeteria as a monitor during lunch-hour, and this was after her children no longer lived at home and her grandchildren had started to school.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Vela Hughes; her brothers, Kenneth and Bobby Hughes; her husband, Jack Williams; and her daughter, Christina Hoff. She is survived by her daughter & husband, Jackie and Jim Pierce; her son, Steve Williams; her son and wife, Larry and LaJohnna Williams; her son and wife, Mark and Kim Williams; her daughter, Cindy Castoro and Christinas husband, Dale Hoff. She is also survived by grandchildren, Nicole Pierce Shinn (Michael), Marty Pierce (Marie), Mark Williams (Heather), Jennifer Williams Smith (Scotty), Lindsay Williams Hoffman (Steven), Ashley Williams Martindale (Blake), Samantha Williams, Kaelan Williams, Sierra Hoff, Jarin Hoff and Myles Hoff; and great-grandchildren, Madi Shinn, Titus Pierce, Jack Pierce, Zack Smith, Jaxon Smith, Trip Williams, Blaine Williams, Warren Smith, Luke Shinn, Pryor Martindale, Wrenley Martindale and Stevie Mae Hoffman.
The family would like to give special thanks to all of her caregivers for their kindness at The Grand Senior Living Center in Bethany, and especially to Ahshanay "Nay-Nay" for the special attention she gave to Bonnie.
