Obituary

Bonita Lynn Monn, youngest child of Leonard G. and Anna Blanche (Braniger) Lynn, was born in Oklahoma City on August 2, 1920. She died on October 4, 2009 at the age of 89 at Warr Acres Nursing Center where she had lived for several years. After graduating from Classen High School she attended the University of Oklahoma briefly before joining neighborhood club members as a civilian employee of the Department of the Navy in Pearl City, Oahu, Hawaii until the end of WWII. She and husband Wayne E. Monn of Harrisburg, PA were married on August 12, 1946 and celebrated 54 years of marriage before his death in 2000. Mrs. Monn worked as a bookkeeper for several local businesses before their children were born. Later she assisted her husband by managing the office of their business, Air Control Service Company. She was an active member of several area churches including Northwest Baptist, Putnam City Baptist, Springdale Alliance, Kelham Baptist and First Baptist Church of Bethany, teaching at different times both young children and senior womens classes. Mrs. Monn was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Genevieve (J.T.) DeLoach and Marjorie (R.F.) Goodson and brothers Howard B. (Katherine) Lynn, Paul A. (Nadine) Lynn and Ralph E. (Gurta) Lynn. She is survived by a daughter Linda D. and husband Sandy Sander of Nashville, TN; a son Stephen W. Monn of Tulsa, OK; two grandsons, James M. Sander of Nashville, TN and Joshua R. Sander of Vienna, VA; two granddaughters, Sarah Leanne Mason of Tulsa, OK and Rachel Diane Monn of Pasadena, CA; a great-grandson, Connor Sean Sander of Nashville, TN and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, October 8, 6-8 PM at Mercer-Adams, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK followed by a graveside service at 10 AM, Friday, October 9 at Rose Hill Cemetery.
