Obituary

Bobbye went peacefully home to her Lord on August 26, 2023 at the age of 90. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit, her gift of hospitality and the love she continued to show to her family. Bobbye was born in Clovis, New Mexico. In high school, Bobbyes family moved to Checotah, Oklahoma, where she graduated from high school. From there she went to Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater for a year and a half. Following her stint at college, she began working in the governors office at the Oklahoma State Capitol in Oklahoma City. Bobbye met Ervin Heidebrecht on a blind date and they were married in 1954. They had 2 sons and when the boys were in elementary school, Bobbye opted to share her phenomenal cooking skills and began working with Putnam City Schools Cafeterias. She was soon promoted to manager and retired in 1985. Bobbye loved to cook! Her specialties were cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip cookies and the most amazing pies: rhubarb, chocolate and cherry. Needless to say, she spoiled her boys.and all their friends too. You never left her house hungry! We had so many wonderful family get-togethers at Ervin and Bobbyes (Grandpa and Grandmas) house and Bobbye was the "hostess with the mostest". Family was very important to Bobbye and her sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were so loved and cherished. On Christmas get-togethers, we would have sleepovers, so that our celebrations went on for the weekend. The kids would sleep in sleeping bags, wed have snacks and open gifts. The next morning, wed wake to the smell of cinnamon rolls and other breakfast delicacies. Easter was celebrated with the most delicious roast youd ever put in your mouth and eggs to hunt, no matter how old the kids got. And then there was the 1989 Olympics. We went to see the opening ceremonies, then spent the weekend at Grandmas having our own version of the Olympics including our own opening ceremonies where the kids marched around with their torches. So much fun, so little time. But mostly, so many warm and wonderful memories of a great lady who had so much love to share. Bobbye had several hobbies including crafting, gardening, creating and enjoying beautiful spaces. She and Ervin had many close friends and loved getting together with them to play games. She loved the old hymns and her smile and laugh would brighten any room. Her faith was so important to her and she prayed for her kids and grandkids daily. She was truly a blessing to all of us! Bobbye and Ervin were married 65 years when Ervin passed away in 2019. Bobbye is survived by her 2 sons, Larry (wife, Joy) and Lynn (wife, Cheryl); 4 grandchildren, Brett Heidebrecht (wife, Claire), Kaylyn Petsalis (husband, George), Tyler Heidebrecht (wife, Jana) and Julie Linn (husband, Caleb) and 10 great-grandchildren, Ava Heidebrecht, Liv Heidebrecht, Margo Petsalis, Georgia Petsalis, Isaac Heidebrecht, Kierra Heidebrecht, A.J.
