Bobby Joe
Wall
May 20, 1936 — May 17, 2026
Bobby Joe Wall, age 89 years, 11 months, and 27 days, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026. He was just three days shy of his 90th birthday — a milestone he proudly claimed, and one his family is honored to celebrate with him.
Bob was born on May 20, 1936, in Shawnee to Richard and Chessie Wall. He spent his childhood growing up in Modesto, CA and Oklahoma City, places that helped shape the hardworking, resilient, and caring man so many knew and loved. He graduated from Central State University with a degree in marketing. Bob worked for Oklahoma Publishing Company for many years, as well as TG&Y, and eventually retired from Chermac Services Corporation. Bob also proudly served as mayor of Warr Acres, Oklahoma from 1995 to 1998. He had many hobbies throughout his life, including woodcarving, painting, ballroom dancing, and gardening. Never one to stop learning something new, he even took up knitting at the age of 89. Likewise, Bob never met a roll of duct tape he couldn't use creatively.
Bob was a lot of fun to be around. He always had a song to sing, a story to tell, and maybe even a little dance if the mood struck him. He loved making people laugh and brought warmth and personality wherever he went. His family and friends will remember the joy — as well as a wide streak of stubbornness — that he brought into everyday moments.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Madena Pendergraft Wall; his daughter, Wendy Blancett; his son-in-law, Jaime McAlpine; and his siblings, Richard Wall, Cecil Wall, Denver Wall, Foy Wall, Estel Wood, and Vera Higginbottom. Bob's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was his family. He often said his greatest achievement was raising five children who grew up to be good Christians — with only one being arrested but not charged. That sense of humor stayed with him throughout his life and was part of what made him so unforgettable. He is survived by his children: Cheryl McAlpine; Delinda Wall; Corbett Wall and wife Lisa Wall; Robin Kohn and husband Mike Kohn; and son-in-law, Scott Blancett. He also leaves behind twelve cherished grandchildren: Trini Guinn; Lauren and Eben Gourley; Caitlin and Fred Nolop; Emmalee and CJ Palma; Russell and Audra Lovett Stall; Anna and Robert Wagner; Rylee and Andrew Cole; Olivia and Jon Pickel, Nathan Blancett; Calvin Blancett; Maris Kohn; and Josie Kohn. Bob was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought him tremendous pride and happiness: Caleb Palma, Zeppelin Nolop, Carter Palma, Parker Lovett, Evie Lovett, Jett Nolop, Rowyn Cole, and Arlo Cole.
Bob will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
