Bobby Lester Dodd, 80, of Bethany, Oklahoma, went to be with his Savior on January 29, 2021. He was born on September 5, 1940 in Blackwell, OK to Louis and Marie Dodd. Bobby was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pricilla, and sister, Caroline.
Raised in the American Legion Home, Bobby, his identical twin Billy, and older sister Caroline shared a tight bond. The siblings graduated from Ponca City High School. After graduation, Bobby drove a bread truck for Rainbo. It was on his bread route that he met and fell in love with a beautiful young woman working as a grocery clerk. Bobby and Pricilla married on September 9, 1961, and they raised three successful sonsBret, Roger, and Kurtin Oklahoma City and Piedmont. While working at Western Electric /Lucent, Bobby earned a degree in Business Administration from Central State University in Edmond.
In addition to his professional work, Bobby enjoyed working as a roofing contractor in the construction industry. Bobby passed on his strong work ethic, attention to detail, and love of the outdoors to his boys. Bobby and Pricilla enjoyed spending time at their home on Lake Eufaula. Most of all, they loved having their sons and their families out on their boat. In recent years, Bobby and Pricilla traveled the country in their fifth-wheel trailer with their dogs, Bridgette and Coco. During their winters in Yuma, Bobby honed his woodworking skills and shaved strokes off his golf game.
After Pricilla's passing in 2018, Bobby remained very involved with his sons and grandchildren. He remembered each of his boys, daughters-in-law, and grandchildrens birthday with a special card. Most of all, he loved helping his sons, visiting with Billy, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson. Throughout his life, Bobby was a loyal, hardworking, and kind man. He and Pricilla shared a 58-year love storyand they leave behind a legacy that will continue to inspire us all.
Bobby is survived by his three sons: Bret (Susan) and grandchildren Sage and Chance; son, Roger (Candace) and granddaughter Britanni (Tyson) and great-grandson Weston and grandson Josh (Dabnee); and son, Kurt (Kathy) and granddaughter Kirstin Rachel.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 2 from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm at Mercer-Adams, 3925 N Asbury Ave, Bethany, OK. Graveside services will occur on Wednesday, February 3 at 11:00 am at Resurrection Cemetery, 7500 W. Britton Rd, Oklahoma City, OK.
