Obituary

Bob Joe Reubell passed away on February 5, 2022. He was born in Asher, OK on March 15, 1927 in the Train Depot where his father was the Train Master. He was the son of Charles E. Reubell and Florence McBee Reubell. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, LaVonne Jenkins Reubell, as well as daughter, Darla Reubell Foreman (Dan) of OKC, OK, and son, Charley Reubell (Sally) of Tulsa, OK. Six surviving grandchildren include: Kyla (Shawn) Williamson, Cara (Jason) Wade, Tara (Steven) Goodson, Charley (Nicole) Reubell, Sara Marsh, and Katy (Ted) Wunderlich. Thirteen surviving great-grandchildren include: Cade, Keegan and Kelbi Williamson, Tucker and Tennie Goodson, Ruby and Maverick Wade, Tatum and Delia Reubell, Abel Marsh and Charlotte, Sam and Juliet Wunderlich. Preceding him in death were his parents; sisters, Emogene, Margery Reubell and Wilma Reubell Sturgeon (Lloyd); as well as brothers, Robe (Roberta) Reubell and Stanley (Robbie) Reubell. Following his graduation from Shawnee High School in 1945, Bob enlisted in the Navy Coast Guard and was assigned to Communications. He spent the majority of his service in Kodiak, AK. Following WWII, Bob returned to Shawnee, OK in 1946 and began a 40-year career with Southwestern Bell Telephone. In 1948, Bob met LaVonne Jenkins on the street in downtown Duncan. They married on September 3, 1948. Bob and LaVonne were co-owners of Myrtles Wedding Shop for 21 years, from 1972-1993. Bob was an integral part of organizing Liberty Chapel that would eventually become Hope Foursquare Church. He served as a Sunday School teacher, spending time with youth as well as senior citizens. If any construction project needed a hammer or saw Bob was there! Upon Bobs retirement in 1986, he devoted his time to family, travel, and filling needs. He was a gifted organizer, planner, leaded glass designer and creative wood worker. Bob loved the Lord Jesus Christ and trusted him throughout his lifetime. He left a priceless legacy to his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Hope Foursquare Church, 3100 N. Meridian Avenue, OKC, OK 73112. Viewing will be Thursday, February 10th, 2022, 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Friday, February 11, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury Avenue, Bethany, OK 73008. . There are no gallery images.
