Blanche Rebecca Gage Moon of Bethany, OK died on December 13, 2013. She was born on April 27, 1912 in Niagara Falls, NY to Hattie Louise (Staley) and John Gibson Gage. She was only two when her mother died; she was brought up, at different times and places, by her grandmother Eleanor Gage and a relative Matie Keegans. She joined the Methodist Church when she was twelve, a decision she regarded as a lifelong commitment. She spent her working life teaching, at all levels from first-graders to college seniors, in various schools in upstate New York and Oklahoma; she was active in several professional organizations. The highlight of her life may have been being invited to watch the launch of one of the spaceflights of Shannon Lucid, a former student. She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley Moon, her sisters, Muriel Sundloff and Norma Stewart, and two nieces, Kathleen Perrine and Alma Foss. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Carol, her daughter, Eleanor, and a number of nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. There will be a come and go visitation on Thursday, December 19, from 1-3pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Private services will be held at a later date.
