Billye Kathryn McLachlan, "B. Kay" of Oklahoma City, OK
B. Kay passed on 11/5/18 at the age of 95, at the Windsor Hills Nursing Center in Oklahoma City. She was born in Maud, Oklahoma to Bill Brisco and Mattie (Brasel) Brisco, and had an older sister, Hazel Highfill.
B. Kay worked in Ada, at Western Union, before moving to Oklahoma City. She attended college at OU, where she met her husband, George William McLachlan, aka "Bill" (1922-2007). The two married on October 27, 1946 and had a son, William Matthew McLachlan.
B. Kay was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and longtime volunteer at both Deaconess Hospital and St. David's Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City. She and Bill loved to travel to England, Ireland, and Scotland often. They loved to fish on Lake Texoma. They also kicked up their heels on a regular basis in a local square dancing troupe. She was a bright spot in many peoples lives, and could usually be seen wearing her favorite color, pink. She loved spending time with her family, going to see musical theater performances, and having lively conversations.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Amanda Jones and her husband Victor; great-granddaughter, Aryia Katherine Jones; niece, Carol Lingreen; and great-niece, Meredith Meyer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; son, Matthew; and granddaughter, Jessica McLachlan.
A service will be held at 2pm on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 in the Resurrection Cemetery Chapel, 7801 NW Expressway in OKC.
In lieu of flowers, donations in B. Kays name to the OK Regional Food Bank or the City Rescue Mission are much appreciated.
